HOLIDAYS AND COURSES IN A MOUNTAIN SETTING
We can now offer Glamping Holidays alongside our Courses.
With four Bell Tents perfectly placed around the wild landscape of Villa De Vida, you can enjoy a peaceful getaway from the Hustle & Bustle of everyday living.
The location of Villa de Vida is unique. With absolutely no light pollution at night, you can sit outside your tent, on tactile wooden decking, watching the milky way above you. Enjoy a glass of local Andaluz wine, dine privately or in the company of other members. Our trained London Chef, Joe Juran can cater for all your dietary requirements. Using the finest food forest fresh ingredients, Joe will cook up a meal to remember.
During the day, you may take part in any of the courses running or simply relax on the decking around our pool over looking the valley towards Álora.
There are beautiful mountain walks & biking tracks.
In the local historic town of Álora there are boutique shops, bars & restaurants. The feel & architecture of Álora is typically Andalucian, with tiny cobbled streets, colourful flowers adorning the balconies, ancient flaking painted doorways & shutters look stunning against the white washed walls. Street cafes selling delicious varieties of tapas.

ÁLORA is a traditional Andalucian town with steep and narrow streets lined with orange trees, white-washed town-houses, plenty of tapas bars and restaurants where you can eat well at very reasonable prices and some fabulous historical architecture and pretty plazas and fountains.
The “Valle del Guadalhorce” is the valley of the river Guadalhorce, which is situated inland to the West of Málaga city connecting the Costa del Sol to the hinterland. The 804 sq km region of the “Valle del Guadalhorce” is a huge swathe of fertile agricultural land, one of the richest areas in Spain, a huge garden blessed with its own wonderful microclimate.
While first colonised by the Romans, it was the Moors who have had the most long lasting influence on the area. Throughout the region there is visual evidence of their work in taming the tumbling streams into irrigation systems which brought fertility to the whole of the valley.
The region’s principal towns lie under the Sierra de Mijas to the South, a long ridge of hills which separates the “Valle del Guadalhorce” from the nearby Costa Del Sol. To the West can be found the vast Sierra de la Nieves National Park, a sparsely inhabited area where rare and abundant wildlife thrive in the mountains and forests.
Commonly known as the Malaga or Ardales "Lake District", these are three stunningly beautiful turquoise lakes bordered by lush green pine forests: a tranquil retreat where you can swim, boat, fish or picnic on the shores.
The Malaga to Ronda railway line which runs from East to West through the region, passes through Pizarra and Álora, on its way to the nearby spectacular world renowned El Chorro Gorge cliff walk, before going onwards towards Antequera.
Trekking on quads gives you the ability to cross terrains which would be demanding by foot, and to cross greater distances, so you can see the stunning landscape up close and from a completely different perspective. Quad-bike treks are great fun and provide amazing views of El Chorro and the surrounding area. We recommend
We are situated in one of the most stunning locations in Andalucia, with undulating hills and valleys, from September to April the cooler temperatures are ideal for your group or family hiking trail holiday or course.
Please email for more information on hiking trail routes around Ermita de las Tres Cruces.
If Climbing is your thing and you would like to incorporate a trip to El Chorro, come and stay with us in Alora for a course and then we can arrange a Spanish language Climbing trip or just take you there to enjoy the amazing selection of climbs available, we can recommend The Olive Branch at El Chorro if you would like to stay closer t othe Cliffs!!!!
At Villa Peña de Vida we offer Reconnection & Healing Ceramonies through the use of natural plants.
We have our experienced Herbal medicine practioner - Ras Binghi Iword, with a mountain of knowledge at his disposal through natural remedies & a diet of Alkaline Vegan medicines, he can advise & heal you. Please email for more information
In the early 1920s it was officially opened by King Alfonso XIII who walked its whole length and gave it its name. Since that time, the Camino has become one of the wonders of Spain.
The El Chorro Gorge is beautiful, with huge walls of rock as high as 400m along its three Km length. “El Chorro” can be loosely translated as the "spurt,"
Deep into the mountains at El Chorro or local to our Course Venue, there are many linked tracks of gravel & dirt, giving you access to some incredible single track rides. At El Chorro you will find steeper tracks for the more experienced riders & locally a more undulating mountain experience. Check out this website for Biking routes in our area of Las Cruces

Ronda is a stunning town sitting at the top of a deep Gorge called El Tajo, which is spanned by a stone bridge, El Puente Nuevo, which took 42 years to complete & was finished in 1793. The height and views are breathtaking & unforgettable!
Ronda is the third most visited city in Andalucia, a visit to one of their Bodegas is a must!
There are the Arabic baths in Ronda too, there is a large cauldron which was used to heat the water, which you can still see. Apparently the star shaped air vents in the roof were copied from the even more famous bathhouse at the Alhambra in Granada.
